03-25-05: Open mic at the Lucky Dog was a loooong night. It being spring break, no other musicians showed up. There was a pretty good crowd though, so I played the whole thing myself. It was fun, but hopefully my next night there (4/13) will feature some other players.
Saturday I'm back at the Dutch Treat in Franconia, but this time it's a night show. That'll be fun; I stopped in a couple weeks ago when Bob King was playing, and the Saturday night crowd was good and rowdy. After my show, it's straight home and into bed, and up before dawn to drive to Massachusetts for Easter with the family.
Oh, and I might be picking up a drum set this weekend. I'll post some pics if it goes through.

03-22-05: Due to scheduling conflicts, a few dates at the Lucky Dog got bumped around. But it's all worked out. I'll be there this Wednesday as scheduled; I'll also be hosting on April 13th, and co-hosting with Chris Downing on the 20th (my birthday!).
Last week was the single busiest week I've ever booked. I made more money playing music than I did at my day job; that's a first, I think. I'm not about to hand in my notice or anything, though.

03-18-05: I played last night at the Cannon Mt. View Motel. It being St. Patty's, it was a rowdy old time, as you might expect.
Tonight and tomorrow, No Limitz will be at Goodfella's. I am doing everything in my power to shake this Guinness hangover before music commences this evening. The fact that 12 ounces of Guinness has only 9.9g of carbohydrates is pretty much rendered moot if you drink four of them. Oh well, it was fun.
I met a few musicians over the last couple days; I'll be doing some stuff with Chris Downing in Plymouth pretty soon, and keep an eye out for Alex Doonan if you're up in the Littleton area. He came up and played a bit at my show last night, and it was pretty damn good.

03-16-05: Wow, there were a lot of musicians at the Wildcat Inn & Tavern last night. Among them was Masceo, a band with a new CD of original material available. These guys are worth a trip to the North Country. Come check 'em out.
Speaking of CDs, I'm getting the itch to hit the studio and try to put together a more professional-sounding disc myself. I'm talking with a few guys about it, and I'm hopeful that by the summer I'll have a CD to peddle.

03-15-05: It's official; I'll be playing on St. Patrick's Day at the Cannon Mt. View Motel. The Irish dinner there goes from 6pm to 9pm. Music will begin at 7pm, and go until the bar has had it's fill. It should be a good time, so come on up!
Tonight is the open mic at the Wildcat Inn & Tavern, which is always a good time. I'll probably try rolling out a few of these Irish tunes I'm learning.

03-14-05: I'm still recovering from a long weekend on the road. Friday night I played the Cannon Mt. View, and the weather was so bad I ended up staying over. Saturday was another show at the same place, followed by a stopover at the Dutch Treat to sit in with Bob King. I stayed in Franconia that night as well, because I had to head over to Wildcat Mountain to play a midday show with Jeremy Dean. I got home Sunday around 5:30pm. I toyed briefly with the idea of going to the open mic at the Sunset Grill that night, but thought better of it and went to bed.
I'm fairly busy this coming week, too. Tuesday is open mic at the Wildcat Inn and Tavern; Thursday is still up in the air, but I'll be somewhere for St. Patrick's Day (I should know exactly where later today); Friday and Saturday I'm down at Goodfella's with No Limitz.

03-10-05: It was a small but enthusiastic crowd at Rosa Flamingo's last night. Thanks to those who made the trip up the notch.
I'll be just above the notch again on Friday and Saturday, playing at the Cannon Mt. View. Good pizza at that place. And the crowd is right into the music there for sure. Saturday might be a little slow, because a local band of some renown is playing a gig nearby. But we'll still have a gool old time.

03-08-05: Looks like there was a bit of confusion regarding the St. Patrick's Day show at the Lucky Dog. Long story short, I won't be playing there on Thursday the 17th. I will still be hosting their open mic night the following Wednesday (3/23) though.
A couple more bookings rolled in yesterday afternoon, and that all but closes out March, April, and May. I've got a few things on the books after that, but I'm hesitant to book too much summer work because if this one deal goes through, my entire summer will be spoken for. Hopefully, I'll have details on that this week.
I've been getting the itch to write (and record) some new stuff, but my computer is still out of service. When I get it back, maybe I can squeeze out an Album-A-Day or something.

03-07-05: Busy weekend. Fun, though. The show at Wildcat Mountain with Jeremy Dean went very well. Later that night I played the Cabot Motor Inn, and that was okay too. Not nearly as many people, but fun nonetheless. On Sunday I stopped in at the Sunset Grill, right here in Campton, to check out their open mic night. It had been a while since I'd been there. I love that place. I'll be playing a night there in April.
Speaking of which, I booked a few new gigs over the weekend, including a show on St. Patrick's Day. The schedule is pretty full through the end of May. Check out the Shows page for dates and times.

03-04-05: The Jeremy Dean Band has been pressed into service this Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Mountain. They just got at least a foot of powder up there this week, so they decided to book a little extra entertainment. We're on from 2pm to 5pm, and then I pack up and head straight for the Cabot Motor Inn for my night show.
I'm still without a computer. The guys at OnSite are working as hard as they can on it, but the problems seem to be pretty serious. In any case, apologies if my email replies aren't as timely as they used to be. Plus, it pretty much eliminates my ability to encode my recordings, so there'll be no new music until I get the system set up again. :( I'd been thinking for a while about getting a dedicated system to use as my recording studio brain, and this might turn out to be the push that sets me off in that direction.

03-02-05: Lots of fun last night at the Wildcat Inn & Tavern. I was thinking of giving it a miss, actually, on account of the foul weather. But Jeremy was sick and couldn't make it, so I drove on up there. Thankfully, Peter Bettencourt was on hand to help me out. He's the regular host on the weeks that Jeremy and I aren't there.
Not a lot of musicians came out; in fact, it was Tom Perkins, Peter, and myself. But there were a good number of people in the tavern, and we had a great old time singing songs about death and mayhem. I'm not sure how we got on that particular tangent, but I played 'Country Death Song' by the Violent Femmes, 'Maxwells Silver Hammer' by the Beatles, and 'The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald' by Gordon Lightfoot. 34 dead in three songs. Yikes. There's a few others I could have thrown in there too, like maybe 'Ohio' by CSN, but I didn't think of it. Anyway, it was more fun than it sounds.
