09-29-05: Last night's episode of G4TV's
Attack Of The Show was a blast. They gave JB and Spud a song title, and
they wrote a song for it during the show. And unbeknownst to the show hosts, they also posted the song title on the web, and a few of us dedicated SFers wrote our own blitzkrieg tunes at the same time! Check out
the results: Prayer For Pancakes.
In other news, I've signed on to play a benefit. There's an annual Cancer Walk taking place this Saturday at PSU, and they're featuring musicians all day. I'll be playing from 6pm to 7pm, and then hustling down to
Laconia for the No Limitz gig at the Boot Hill Saloon.

09-28-05: JB and Spud from SongFight are going to be on G4TV's
Attack Of The Show at 7pm EST (4pm PST) tonight. Check it out, it should be a pretty interesting show. And if you do, tell me how it was, 'cause
I don't have cable.
Besides, I should be hard at work in the studio, recording stuff for my CD. I did a bit last night, but it was for a different project; I'm working on a theme song for fellow SFer Kamakura. You'll hear it soon.
Oh, and I got that Kurzweil up and running, and I did a TwinGeekz Artz Project track with it called The First Day Of Fall. Sounds like a piano to me.

09-21-05: Just like that, it's the last day of summer. Wow. I've been recording for a few days, trying to get the hang of my new equipment. I'm getting there. I can't even give you a
rough guess as to when my CD will be ready. But progress is being made.
Chris Downing, on the other hand, should have his CDs in hand today. I've heard a bit of his new album, and it's pretty damn good.
In other news, my song Remus will be used as the closing credits music for a long-running local program called Plymouth Live. Those of you in the Plymouth area can check out the show Friday night at 6pm on PCC20.

09-14-05: Today I'm dropping off a CD to the good folks at PCC20 so they can use some of my music on their TV Bulletin Board channel. Woohoo! I assume fame and fortune will quickly follow, and
I'd like to mention now that I won't forget my faithful listeners who were there at the start. Well, maybe the gravy train doesn't run this far north, but it'll still be pretty cool to be on the tube.
In other news, tonight is the open mic at the Lucky Dog. College is back, so it should be a good one. C'mon down! |
|
09-13-05: I'm going to be on television! (Sort of.) The local Community TV station runs a bulletin board channel, and my music will be featured on it, starting in the
next few days. Those of you in the Plymouth, NH area can check it out on Plymouth Community Channel 20.
I've got the recording studio more or less set up. I'm starting to lay down some tracks for the upcoming CD, and I've been doing some side project stuff as well. Check out some loop-based
music at Tapegerm. The work I've been doing there is finding its way into the TwinGeekz Artz Project too. Mmm, multitasking.

09-08-05: Well, things were pretty rowdy at Rosa's last night. Those of you in attendance got to see the last public appearance of my trusty keyboard. At about 12:30am, near the end of the show
(I was asked to play late), the E key below middle C cracked and flew off into the crowd, thus ending my stage keyboard's noble run. Rest in peace, sweet Casio.
So now I'm scrambling for a replacement; I'm playing a wedding on Saturday, and there's a rehearsal for it tonight. I have a shoddy board I can use for the rehearsal if I have to, but I need to have a new
stage board in place for the weekend. I will probably just replace it with another of the same. Or similar, anyway; I think this model (WK3000) is discontinued.

09-06-05: I'm still recovering from this past weekend. Got through it, though, and it was great. I'll miss playing at The Margate; that is, until next summer.
No Limitz had three good shows at the Boot Hill Saloon too. We'll be back there later this month, and fairly regularly through the rest of the year.
I've done a little of the setup with my new recording equipment. I managed to get a song done for SongFight called God Hates Penguins. A peculiar little
number for a peculiar little title. And I did a couple loop-based things on my computer and submitted them to Tapegerm, and they'll also serve as
my next two TwinGeekz Artz Project submissions. Phew! Is that enough links for ya?
Anyway, I'm wrapped up in learning some music for a wedding I'm playing this coming weekend. After that, September gets a little easier, so I'm really hoping to put some time into getting my disc recorded.
